Our CL Pitches

CAMC CL Touring Caravan/Motorhome Pitches

Our CAMC CL comprises of 6 individually named pitches (Hampshire, Texel, Norfolk Horn, Suffolk, Herdwick and Swaledale) for Touring caravans and Motorhomes for CAMC members only.

When creating our relatively new CL we decided that we would like to offer members the opportunity to choose a particular pitch when making a booking rather than us assigning pitches on arrival and so we have individually named our pitches after sheep breeds.  You are able to view the location of each pitch on the site plan below and at the booking stage the individual pitch can be selected.

WHY DO WE HAVE 6 PITCHES ON A 5 PITCH CL?……As we wish to offer members to book specific pitches (i.e. we do not allocate pitches ourselves prior to arrival subject to availability) then this can result in us having availability that is split between 2 individual pitches.  As part of our pitch upgrades in November 2021 we introduced a 6th pitch which allows us to accommodate a members stay (that would have been on 2 individual pitches) without the need for re-locating during their stay.  In addition we have also found this additional pitch to be invaluable when emergencies arise and we have the ability to assist members in need.

About The Pitches We Offer

All of our pitches are fully serviced and offer metered 16 amp electric hook up, mains water, grey waste disposal and free WiFi at each pitch.  The pitches are level, hard-standings positioned with views across our sheep grazing paddocks. The hard-standing area is 9m x 9m to accommodate the largest Tourers/Motorhomes with space enough for car parking and awnings on the hard-standing. The pitch’s are separated by a 6m grass area where service points are located and the pitches can be easily accessed from the hard-standing central roadway.

Washing up amenities, mains flushing WC and shower facilities, chemical toilet disposal, general and recycle waste are provided with easy access to the pitches (approx 20-30m).

Electricity Fair Usage Policy

At Walnut Tree farm we wish for your stay with us to be as hassle-free as possible and to offer pitch fees that are inclusive of our services and facilities rather than a lower base price with multiple add-ons (i.e. charges for dogs/use of shower etc).

In response to the rising energy costs we have listened to our guests to find a solution that we believe is fair, up-front and honest.  As a result we have implemented a policy where we continue to include 16 amp EHU within our pitch fees with the use of Smart Top-Up Meters.

We have added Smart Top-Up Meters to all our pitches and included an allowance of 10 KWH/units of electricity for every 24 hours period that you stay within the pitch fees.  Your full KWH/unit allowance will be applied upfront at the start of your stay to the Smart Top-Up Meter, for example 2 nights stay will include 20KWH/units, 7 Nights will include 70KWH/units.

It is important to us that if we offer 16 amp EHU included in our pitch fees that allowance is reasonable and does not lead to extensive top ups as we don’t want to inconvenience the majority of our guests.  That’s why we have researched and found that 10 KWH/units seems to be adequate to cover the average daily usage per caravan or motorhome.

The current status/usage can be viewed via a smartphone or tablet (by simply scanning a QR code) from the comfort of your own caravan or motorhome.  If in the event that you need to top up more electricity, this can be purchased without the need to even leave the comfort or your own caravan or motorhome via a smartphone or tablet in the same way as viewing the status.  The top up ranges form £2- £10 and the cost of the electric is based on the “Government Ofgem Price Cap”.

Non Electric Pitch Options

We also offer our pitches as a non electric options therefore giving flexibility to members with alternative power supplies and/or low electric usage levels.  At the booking stage there is the option to select either 16amp EHU or Non electric options.
